NAIDOC 2022

The Mossman Indigenous community hold its NAIDOC week between the 10 July - 15 July 2022, one week after the national celebration. Join us from the 10 July - 15 July 2022 to celebrate and recognise the deep history, rich culture as well as achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islander Day Observance Committee and its origins can be traced to the emergence of Aboriginal groups in the 1920s. These groups sought to increase awareness in the wider community of the status and treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians

NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories as well as participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on Earth
